Digital Voltage Meter – 2006

Monitoring coach battery voltage can be really important when it is cold and you are using your onboard coach batteries.
The voltage meter which comes in our Bounder is on the dash and will show the voltage for both coach battery and the engine battery.  The main problem with this is it only shows the voltage when you are pushing a small button on the dash and it’s impossible to read in the dark.
I took the digital voltage gauge and mounted it where I can see it from any place in the main living area.
This gauge is available at Camping World and is designed to go into a cigarette lighter style accessory plug.  I put an accessory plug inside a small box and attached it to the wall of the coach.

Used two wires from a trailer light adapter plug to tap into the 12 volt power system.  I used this style adapter plug so I can take the voltage meter out of the coach.  I need to put something over the green and yellow wires to help them blend into the brown woodwork.

This picture also shows the inserts I added to the storage shelf above the driver’s seat.  I can put a lot more stuff into this cabinet and not have to worry about things falling out and hitting me on the head.  Actually it is more than worry, it is more like wondering when the stuff was going to fall out and hit me, it was going to happen again.
