The installation is not prefect because I was in a hurry and only had a piece of 3/4 inch thick oak to use as a spacer for the wall.
The wall paneling is only about 1/8 of an inch thick and these speakers are a little heavy. I put a piece of oak (a backing plate) on the inside of the paneling wall and bolted the Bose mounting bracket through the spacer and through the oak backing plate. Because I was using bolts and not screws I have to have the original speakers out in order to get my hand inside the wall to hold the nut.
The 3/4 inch spacer on the outside of the wall didn’t allow me to put the original speaker cover on the original speakers. I’ll have to figure this one out later.
Anyway I got these speakers installed and they are GREAT.
