Zion Natl Park – Thursday June 3, 2010

Today was the trip with Zion Field Institute. It’s an organization that supports the national parks in this area, they have a 3 million dollar budget and last year gave Zion 800,000 dollars. The 4 – 5 hour hike has a limit of eleven people. This outing missed the limit by 10. So l got a personal guided tour. We went to two places I would never been able to have gone by myself. Michael may also do the river trip in September. Great day with amazing views.

Picture of the day is a HOT but I’m still friendly Hank, 92 in MH with over 100 this weekend.

Great job on identifying the sky with no clouds.

Zion National Park – Wednesday June 2, 2010

Wednesday at Zion Natl Park. Today’s entry will have two pictures, one from the East Rim trail and the other is a mystery picture. If you think you know what the mystery picture is you can add your guess to the comments. I left home with the comments set as moderated and l’ve had no luck getting that changed. You’ll have wait for me to approve comments.

I caught the 5:45 a.m. bus this morning and hiked up to the East Rim trail 4.5 miles up and 4.5 miles back down – a long ways for me. It got to 90 today and should reach 100+ this weekend.

Zion Natl Park – Tuesday June 1, 2010

Zion just got a little better, 3g works great.

As I start to write it’s 87 & partly overcast, Hank just had a lizard run right by him and NOT one bark, he also knows exactly how long his line he’s on will stretch.

Today was a beautiful day drive 124 and have a great site along the river. Campfire program is at 9:30 and Jean brought plenty of Tootsie Roll pops.

Today’s picture is a Birthday bottle of wine. For those who didn’t provide a Birthday bottle of wine YOU should feel BAD.
