This is a new post vs historical
When I did the Blog back on May 27, 2018 I said I had more president pictures which I would post when I got more data. I have more data here are the pictures.
We have a new member of the family!
We got to Tanya at 12:30 so she could go to her doctor appointment with Jack.
Today’s drive:
In site 48.
These sites are really close, we may buy up next year to a larger site.
Left Ruby Creek at 9:00 a.m. Richard and Vickie had already left when we got up.
We are on our way to the Garcia’s to help with the new grand-daughter, “The’ Girl Garcia” is scheduled to be born on Friday June 29, 2018.
Today’s drive:
We are in site A7
I fished up the river today.
Here is the first fish I caught at Ruby Creek.
After dinner I went fishing right out from the coach…caught a 15 inch brown on one of the flies I tied. This retirement thing is good.
The fly:
Rained hard from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m
Fished down the river for 2 hours until the wind got to heavy, could not cast out into the river any more.
Richard and Vickie got here at 2:30. We went up to Beartooth Lodge so Richard and Vickie could get Montana fishing license. It has a small sign on the road and looks very much like someone’s house. When we walked in the door I saw largest selection of fly tying stuff than I have ever seen, amazing. They must have an amazing online business. They may also have a big part of fishing guide business.
In the evening I tied up a bunch of flies like the ones the shop sold Richard.
Today ended up being a moving day. With the rain over the last couple of days and the hard rain last night I decided we had better get out of the campground this morning.
The campground is about 50 feet below the highway and the road has two areas which get muddy and soft when wet. I drove the pickup up to the road and was going to walk back and get Jean and the coach. As I started back a BLM Ranger came by and gave me a ride back to our campsite. He said he would wait to ensure we got the coach up the hill.
I was slippery and getting soft in both of the bad spots in the road however we made it. Slipped around some and had a bunch of the heavy mud/clay on bottom of the coach.
It rained most of the afternoon, if we had not left Palisades in the morning I am not sure we would have made it up the road and back to the highway. We ended up having heavy rains during the next week and I am sure we would have been stuck at Palisades for at least a week and a half if not longer.
We moved to Ruby Creek BLM CG 8 miles closer of Ennis.
We are in site 15.
View for the next week.
Rained on and off during the night and then most of the morning. It is also pretty windy.
Fished the Palisades area in the afternoon, hooked three fish but none of them to the net, nice afternoon.
Went into town today to get gas and more cold medicine. Stopped at the Orvis store for fly recommendations, bought a couple of flies and then went to The Montana Fly Fishing Company store to get stuff to tie some purple worms.
Fished Three Dollar Bridge down stream with another dozen and a half fisherman, saw one 4 inch fish caught. In the evening I tied up some purple worms.
No caddis hatch yet.
Drove to Three Dollar Bridge which is supposed to be one of the best places to wade fish the river.
The GPS points look like I jumped back and forth across the river when in fact I stayed on one side of the river. There was way to much water to wade all the way across. I did not have a strike nor did I see anyone catch a fish.
