Madison River, MT – Palisades CG – Monday June 10, 2019

Palisades BLM Campground

We are in site 1 same one we have had the last couple of years, third year at Palisades.  BLM added some gravel to the road however they did not put any gravel in the spot that gets soft and muddy.  I talked to the BLM ranger today and he commented on the fact they had added gravel to the road – when I pointed out that was great however they hadn’t put gravel in the worst part of the road, he said yes the engineers kind of blew that one, he is only the ranger.

1 strike
1 on, took off running down the river and got off, using barbless hooks, any slack in the line and there is a good probability the fish is getting off

Big Hole River, MT – Anaconda Sportsman Club – Monday May 27, 2019

Pictures Took 10 minutes to upload these while at Ruby Creek with slow cell service.

This is a nice place they will deliver water to your RV and they have outhouses, no garbage. It is a non profit and you pay by donation. I think we will be here until next Monday or Tuesday so we gave them $100.00. I can fish right here at the park and will not have to drive.

Barrett, MT / Dillon – Wednesday May 22, 2019

Went into town this morning for propane. With the cold weather I am not sure we had enough for the long weekend end. We are parked in more of a parking lot rather than an actual camping site and didn’t want to leave here on a busy weekend.

New camp area.

Did need to move 2 feet to the left from the first time I pulled in so the radio and TV could see the satellites.

Had some thick rain this morning.

Here is the weather report.

Dillion, MT Barrett’s Dam – Friday May 17, 2019

358 miles all in the rain. Had the wipers on intermittent a couple of times but that’s the best it got. Dennis and Ed are returning from Utah and they rented a truck in Boise rather then ride for 10 hours in the rain, money well spent.

Campsite picture

We were here for four days last year looking for fishable waters and that is why we’re here this year. The weather report for Butte says snow above 5500 feet tonight and we are at 5184. Have a full tank of propane and 70 gallons of gas so we are good for a long time.

Richland, WA – Monday May 13, 2019

Back out on the road headed toward Montana and a month of fly fishing. We have been at the big house working in projects and waiting for the weather in Montana to warm up. This will be our third time to have spring weather this year.

Today’s drive.

At Columbia Sun Rv Resort, it is only three miles from the Garcia’s.

In site 126, we will be here for a month starting in late June.

Boron, Ca – Monday April 8, 2019

After a week at Death Valley.

Here is today’s drive

This is the second time I I posted this, my cellphone connection died in the middle of a upload and trashed the post and my login. Took 45 minutes Tuesday 4/9 to get logged in.

I will catch up we get to the big house, Tuesday 4/9 ended up being a 509 mile day but we are out of the dust storm in southern Cal.
