Badlands National Park, SD – Cedar Pass Campground – Friday May 18, 2018

Today’s drive:

Stopped at Devil’s Tower National Monument for a couple of hours, I walked around the tower.

Found our site, dropped the pickup, went to the dump and filled with water. We plan to be here for 6 nights leaving the 24th moving to Custer State Park for two weeks.

In site 8.

The campground can be defined by the dump and water.

This is the potable water, hose at top bent, not much water can get through.

In the middle of the hose is electrical tape with water coming out of both ends of the wrap.

Water spraying out at the end of the hose where the fitting is worn out.

Missouri Headwaters State Park, Mt – Tuesday May 15, 2018

Dish TV has a new phone app which allows us to change our service location though the app in just a few minutes as often as we want. We just need cell service and the satellite system up and running. Changing our service location allows us to get the three major networks while we are traveling in the motor home. This is just really cool, it was 30-45 minute process to set up the laptop and do an on line chat wondering how many times a year DISH would allow us to change service locations. Now DISH is going to use the new app as a feature and great selling point for their sports and traveling dish systems, Happy Harry.

Had a nice short drive today.

Our plan is to spend two nights here and then a long day to the Badlands Natl Park on Thursday.

Headwaters of the Missouri River just sounds like a cool place to be.

We are in site 15.

Orland, CA – Monday February 12, 2018

Yes we are still at the same rest stop as last night.

Sunday evening when I want out to check the engine oil level I saw brake fluid on the inside of the front tires.  The driver’s side had more than the passenger side but the both had fluid on the tire and a small line running down on the rotors.
I looked on the internet for truck / RV repair places and didn’t come up with any place that really stood out.  I did find that both Orland and Corning have Les Schwab stores.  This morning we drove to the Les Schwab in Corning to have the brakes look at.

The calipers and brake fittings are not leaking, couldn’t find a place where any was coming out.  It looks like the guy who did the brake job at Christmas got a lot of brake fluid on the inside of the wheel rim and with the brakes warming up coming down out of the Siskiyou’s this fluid flowed down onto the tire and onto the rotor.

We spent the afternoon at a rest stop north of Corning and are now back at the rest stop south of Corning.  Tomorrow (Tuesday 2/13/2018) we will drive to Boron, Ca.

While we were in Corning we did stop at the Olive Pit and purchased a few olives.  The Washington delivery will not be made until the end of April, sorry for the delay.
Short travels today.

Orland, CA – Sunday February 11, 2018

Forgot to take campsite picture again today. We got here at 4:15, Hank and I walked around the rest stop several times and I never thought of taking the picture.

The weather report for the Siskiyou’s is for snow late tonight into Monday morning so we drove thru and got south of the winter weather. Looks like our spring has arrived and in a couple of days we will be into summer weather.

Update – drive through Siskiyou’s, glad we beat the snow.

Salton City, CA – Thursday November 2, 2017

Up at 6:30 on the road a little after 7:00.

Today’s drive
We are staying in West Shores RV Park in Salton City. It is going to be in the low 80’s while we are here and we want to see some of the sights so we needed air conditioning for Hank.  One of those older parks that has seen better days. Part of the park was a marina however the water is so far away the marina doesn’t even exist any more.
We are close to the water and it is a lot cooler the inland.
