Three Dollar Bridge
2 six inch Browns on a Parachute Adams, during a small hatch and the below 15 inch rainbow.

15 inch Rainbow – a guy I had talked to earlier in the day came by just as I hooked this trout –(on a red weighted San Juan Worm) he took a picture for me, he said it was the only fish he saw caught today. Hooked another nice trout but he got off.

I watched this goose and her young for a while and then decided I should take a picture, by the time I got my camera out the little ones had moved to far side of the nest.

Here is my view while I ate lunch.

Morning
2 strikes
6 inch Brown
15 inch Brown

Had the largest fish I’ve ever seen on for a while – hooked him with 30 feet of line, he jumped and headed down the river, ran off 100 feet of flyline and jumped again, was half way into the 150 feet of backing which is on my reel, then the went slack, he got off.  With barbless hooks any slack in the line makes is easy for the hook to come out.

Afternoon
1 good size rainbow, got up to the net, he went under a branch, put the lower hook hooked on the branch and he got loose before I could get my net on him.

Palisades BLM Campground

We are in site 1 same one we have had the last couple of years, third year at Palisades.  BLM added some gravel to the road however they did not put any gravel in the spot that gets soft and muddy.  I talked to the BLM ranger today and he commented on the fact they had added gravel to the road – when I pointed out that was great however they hadn’t put gravel in the worst part of the road, he said yes the engineers kind of blew that one, he is only the ranger.

1 strike
1 on, took off running down the river and got off, using barbless hooks, any slack in the line and there is a good probability the fish is getting off
1 to the net 8 inches

Madison River, MT – Ruby Creek – Saturday June 8, 2019

Friday nights forecast calls for 3-5 inches of snow,

It started snowing at 8:00, we put in the slides and the electrical panel power relay started working so we had electric heat for the evening.

Saturday morning we woke to an inch of snow.

Up the valley south of us you could see they got a lot more snow then we did.

We went to the Ennis library on Friday and I got caught up from the Big Hole River.

May 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and June 2.

Madison River, MT – Ruby Creek CG – Friday June 7, 2019

No fishing today, the water is dirty and it is going to rain all day.

Yesterday after I wrote the post I went outside to check on things and almost got blown over, wind was 50+.

Here is tonight’s forecast;

I will put the slides in before we go to bed.

This is our cellphone data service at Ruby Creek with the WeBoost on, have nothing without it.

Yesterday’s post ended up taking almost an hour to get it to actually post, oh well.

Happy Birthday Stine.

You cannot see the wind but it is blowing 20-35 mph all day. Blowing so hard I had to be careful it didn’t blowing my glasses off. The slides have been in all day and will be that way tonight.

The river is pretty dirty here but not to bad up at Three Dollar Bridge. 100% chance of rain tomorrow so we’ll see it goes, wind is supposed to be down 83° today 53° tomorrow.
