Palisades BLM Campground, Montana – Sunday June 9, 2024

Figured out how to upload pictures to the WordPress media gallery for future use.  Now I can edit pictures on a Windows machine, upload to the WordPress gallery and hopefully add them to a post from a Chromebook..

Saturday afternoon I got my Cannon 60D out to take some flower pictures. Here are a couple a pictures I found on the camera, from 2020 I think.

I forgot to insert a Pagagraph between the first two pictures, Oh, well I eventually get it.

After a few flower pictures an eagle parked itself in a tree on the other side of the river.  I dug out my 500mm lens and took a bunch of pictures, here are a couple. Oh, yes – here is a picture of the eagle. I was going to upload several pictures but it looks I didn’t, I’ll add some more tomorrow and also some flower pictures. All the original pictures are on my Windows machine and it’s asleep.

This morning’s view with my coffee. It is pleasantly warm today and looking forward to a great day.

Water flow is still on the rise.

Another beautiful morning on the Madison River.  The river is still high and dirty which is caused by the sunny warm weather we are enjoying.

I don’t remember if (I start a lot of sentences this way) I mentioned I saw a moose on the other side of the river a couple of days ago. That is a bad sentence, really bad sentence with four “I’s” in it.

Palisades BLM Campground, Montana – Friday June 7, 2024

Another great day, we are into summer weather in Montana.  With the warm weather the river gets more water and dirt. Fish hunker down and wait for the river to slow down and clear.

Spent multiple hours today watching WordPress videos on how to use the program. I learned a lot, now I need to put it all into practice.   (Saturday 6/8/24) I just figured out how to connect WordPress to Google Drive, upload Iphone photos to Google Drive into a specific folder and than put the photo or screen shot into a post. I just did this with the above water flow report, now can I do this tomorrow.

Palisades BLM Campground, Montana – Thursday June 6, 2024

Working on this post. Created this as a draft to insert pictures from my phone before the text, however I could not see this post when I went to my phone.
I am going to try publishing this and then going to my phone. We’ll see what happens.

Publishing the pictures to this post from my Iphone looks like it will allow me to put text into the post.

I added this smart shunt a couple of months ago. It gives me a lot more information and I can monitor the batteries from my phone or Ipad.

We do have a 120w portable solar panel which supplies us with some of our power.

This is the view from the front of the coach. I spent quite a bit of time today sitting here and editing photos. It was a beautiful warm sunny day.

This is a Rocky Mountain Iris,

Don’t know what this, just a pretty blue flower.

More Iris’s

Got to work on the Iphone focus.

This is one of the official river flow gauges, Cameron is just down river from us.

My view from the shade next to the coach.

I did learn when I’m putting the pictures in I need to insert a Paragraph Block in between each picture. Oh well, I’ll figure it out in time.

Remember many of my older posts are at harrylange.wordpress.com we did a lot of traveling before I got harrylange.com. Chromebook and I are starting to get along better.

This is the weather for the next few days, looks like summer is almost here.

Rock River Flow Gauge
I’m going to try and use today’s post as the place I will update my “Rock River Flow Gauge”.  Hopefully I will be able to keep adding to the pictures on this page.  Oh yes, I first have to remember to take a picture of the rock each day.

This is the official Madison River Flow gauge.

This is not the best picture but it is a picture.  I didn’t want to loose my phone in the river and I don’t want to keep this fish out of the water for very long. I’m just not very good at taking Iphone pictures with one hand. Got this fish on Tuesday.

(Discussed this fish yesterday and today but I was really really pleased to get it to the net)

Just a nice cloud picture.

Forgot to edit the extra stuff off this picture and I’m not going to go back and do it again. I have learned that I should put the pictures into the post from my phone and than go to the Chromebook and put in the text.

Palisades BLM Campground, Montana – Tuesday June 4, 2024

Had a good day fishing today, this is the only fish I even hooked today however it was a nice fish and happy to be let free.

This is not the best picture but it is a picture.  I didn’t want to loose my phone in the river and I don’t want to keep this fish out of the water for very long. I am just not very good taking Iphone pictures with one hand.

I am currently writing the text in Google Docs, opening the website in Chromebook, creating the post, pasteing in the text and space for the pictures, publishing the post, open the post on Iphone and then uploading the pictures and updating the post.

Chromebooks don’t have a “Delete Key” what’s up with that.  I have been looking at some YouTube videos about Chromebooks.  Remember I bought this Chromebook to display fly tying videos and know I’m starting to use it for blog posts.

Here is Marley in one of his favorite positions.

Our current plan is to hang around this area until we need to be in the Tri-Cities.  We have reservations at Plymouth Park at John Day Dam starting Tuesday June 25, 2024.

Thought I would look at some Utube videos on how to use a chromebook.  The first title I found was for 2023/24 machines was 2023 Chromebook Tips and Tricks : Unlock the full potential of your device.

Was by “Tech for Senior’s”  Ouch, that kind of hurt.  Who’s a senior around here?

Palisades BLM Campground, Montana – Sunday June 2, 2024

I went fishing today.  Walked up to just above the boat ramp and worked my way back to camp.  Had a good time, one fish on and none to the net, so today was fishing and not catching.

I’m going to have to spend some time figuring out how to adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad on this Chromebook. My thumbs keep hitting the touchpad and moving the cursor around the screen.

The weather was OK today, about 68 and I only got caught by one thunder shower. Tomorrow (Monday) is supposed to be the worst day for a while with 10 degrees cooler temperatures and rain.

My current plan is to use this rock for my river flow gauge while at Palisades.

Palisades, Montana – Saturday June 1, 2024

Yesterday I had a good day fishing just above the boat ramp. Had two fish on and nothing to the net. Got several miles of walking in and enjoyed the sunshine and very little wind.

Overall it was a great birthday and looking forward to next year’s as well.

EDIT
Saturday June 1, 2024 at 8:45 p.m. Palisades BLM campground.
This is an edit from the Chromebook I bought to use for fly tying videos. I mostly just wanted to know that I could do it. So, now I am officially using window os, apple iphone os and Chromebook os to create this website/blog with WordPress via Starlink satelites.

Palisades, Montana – Friday May, 31, 2024

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I’d lke to do
Is to save every day
‘Til eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I’d save every day like a treasure and then
Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seem to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I’ve looked around enough to know
That you’re the one I want to go
Through time with

If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory of how
They were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do,
Once you find them
I’ve looked around enought to know
That you’re the one I want to go
Through time with
