Up Stairs Bathroom

The upstairs sink has had problems draining for years.  Part of the replumb will be replacing the drain for this sink.  I thought the drain ran across the outside wall, behind the corner cabinet, behind the toilet and into the main sewer pipe behind the tub.

When I got the wall cut open I found the drain runs across the wall and then in the floor across the front of the toilet and into the main sewer.

I don't necessarily need to replace the toilet, however as you can see the tank and bowl are connected by a 1 1/4 brass tube.  I'm concerned this tube is going to give out and start leaking.  We're going to replace both toilets with 1.28 gallon flush models.

This is where the sink drain connects into the vent and then under the floor.

Newspaper was used a lot for insulation in the outside walls.
The newspaper is very brittle and broke into small pieces as I pulled it out from around the pipes.  I was able to get several pieces out in one piece and this one actually had a date on it.

Hopefully this new drain from the upstairs sink will take care of the sink not draining.  This will be nice.

Insulation covering the new ventilation system ( a fan). Duct work venting out the roof.

The finished upstairs bathroom (kind of, the floor has not been installed).

Friday and Saturday March 31 and April1 it is time to put the new flooring down.  This means the sink, toilet and tub must come up and/or be moved.  We jacked the tub up using my car floor jack.  Than two 4X4's with 2X4's on top of the 4X4's to get enough height were slide under the tub.  Brian and Zach helped me slide the tub so we could put flooring under the tub.  This picture shows us aligning the tub back up to where it was.

This is one of the tub supports I built so all the weight of the tub is not on the legs.    Several years ago we had one of the tub legs come off when a guest was getting out of the tub.

  Room finished

This is were the sink was/is.  Everything in the room had to come out for the new floor to go down.

Here is the support under the tub.

In January I added a show to the upstairs bath.  Had to build this support to hold the rain shower head.
