Basement Area
This is the main side of the basement. Ok, I started this pictures with the area cleaned and ready to be repiped. I was/is a not very organized and to get any idea about what I was doing in this area it is better to start at the end and work back. This corner was originally a shower and I changed it to hiking equipment storage.
This is the old shower and where I'd built a
storage area for my hiking equipment. |
I have three
shelves full of cans, food, tents and of course plastic tarps. The white plastic bowl is to catch water that sometimes leaks out of the hose. |
|
This is a unique set of values to control the
water tempature for this shower. |
This is the way the area looked when I started cleaning and getting things out of the way.
The next couple of pictures show the values to
control the shower water tempature. |

Inside the shower area and the hotwater going to the first floor bathroom. | This is the cold water going up into the
outside house wall and into the first floor bathroom. When the new pipes go into the downstairs and upstairs bathrooms I'm having the water come up through the floor rather than the outside walls. This way all the water pipes will be in a heated area and will not freeze. |
|
This is where the water goes up to the second floor bathroom. It's in the wall just to the left of the downstairs toilet ( you see this later). | I think this valve
was originally designed to drain the water out of the line going the the
hose bib in the front of the hose. It used to leak so I put a
gasket and c-clamp on this valve many years ago. |

Pipes coming from
the laundry room. |
This is where you
get into the crawl space in the front of the house. This will lead to
where the front hose bib is located. |

I am having a drain for the front house bib go here.
All the old show pipes are gone.
This is where the water goes up into the downstairs bathroom | Going out to the hose bib in the front of the house.
I have Tim put in this valve and drain so in the winter I can shut the water off to the front hose bib. I did cruel under the front livingroom and insulate the pipe to the front hose bib. It's the only 11 feet of pipe in the house not in a heated area.
